12/13/11 - Christmas Cards & SO

I am SO enjoying working on craft projects again, but it amazes me how long it is taking to complete each step of each project. I am SO out of practice!

For example, I used to be able to make 10 cards in an hour. SO far, my card:time ratio is 0.5 per hour. For someone that wants to do this as a living, that's not good! It also feels like I'm trying to run in quick sand while editing photos. SO far, I'm able to finish about 1 per hour. I used to be able to do most manipulations within 5-15 minutes. SO, I need more practice to get back in the swing of things. Lucky me!  Literally.

Considering it's been 2 years since I've done anything, and things are set up differently here than they were in my old workroom, I'm actually quite proud just to be engaged in completing projects again. And did I mention it's fun?

After I get home from work, I only have a couple of hours to play. Er, I mean work. Darn. At some point, I am going to have to figure out which it is. But for now, regardless, I only have about 2 hours at the end of a very long day.  SO, instead of working on Dad's tribute albums when I'm tired and cramped for time, I've been working on photos and Christmas cards. That will mean doing double-time on Dad's albums this weekend, but it will be worth it.

I started arranging a couple of the cards I've made SO I could take a picture to show you. Then one thing led to another and instead of just showing you a picture of the cards I've made, I made you your own Christmas photo card!

It incorporates all the things I enjoy doing: scrapbooking, photo editing and digital embellishments.

I love my blog readers and the new friends I'm making and the life I'm building.

SO, Merry Christmas! Here's your card.
