Wallet Photo Prompt - January 2012

I said in a previous blog that I would not count this as my actual contest entry, but that I would definitely enter it just because it is fun. Here is my submission for the opening sentence based on the photo below:

As I leaned over to get my wallet,
I had no idea it would be the last thing I'd ever see.

  1. I like that idea. Can't wait to read it :)

I think a book becomes a book when you say it does. I've seen books as little as 30 pages up to well over a thousand.

Tell the story and when it's done, it's done, right?

  2. The mysterious wallet hovered there in midair. It moved just out of reach each time I grabbed for it.

  3. @ Maria - Then it's a book! Ha! I wrote 1500 words tonight. Not bad, huh? I really like the story. Will be interesting to see whether or not anyone else does. Either way, it will be done. :)

  5. It only matters if you like it!

@Don - did you get the 10k out of it?

  6. @ Maria - Yeah, not so much, but I love your support and enthusiasm! I'm just sayin' that Nora Roberts wouldn't be setting publishing records if she were the only one that liked her stories. I'll settle for any number in between hers and me as a solo fan. LOL! :)

  12. @ LR - That's funny. No worries. No matter but good to know it was you.

On average there are appx. 334-361 words per page and 11-18 pages per chapter. But that's only from the fiction I've read of my favorite authors. And yes, I'm nerd enough to have done the math. Felt like I needed to know. You may insert laughter [here] ;)
