2/22/12 - Surprise Ending

On my way home from work today, I stopped by Cedar Hill State Park (sans the puppies) for some sunshine and much needed communion with God. It was wonderful to be alone in reflection and introspection. I sat right on the water's edge and filled my soul. I am so blessed.

It occurred to me that I am also lucky. I live right by this park and get to drive by it every day on my way to and from work. On any given day I can pull in, use my State Park Pass and enjoy views like this. Until I get my RV, this is definitely a sweet compromise.

My Goodbye Picture
There are also other intriguing spots along my route to work. For example, I work just blocks from Six Flags, Texas Cowboys Stadium and the Ranger Ballpark. This sign is on the corner by our warehouse.

The Big "Domey" Thing

I also get to drive by this titillating place every day.

And last but not least, this place. It is a HUGE park. I drive right by it every day and sometimes I drive through there just to get my RV fix.

Which leads me to the title: a surprise ending. Are you ready? I found out today that at the end of the year I will receive a company bonus.  How great is that?!? Guess where that money will go? Good guess! I may already have it before then, but by the end of the year, I will definitely have my wonderful home on wheels.  I told you 2012 Rocks!  :)

That was MY surprise. Now here's one for my wonderful readers. It has been 4 months to the day that I created this blog and I can honestly say I am flying on the wings of eagles. Enjoy!

  1. Beautiful song! And you do have a lot of cool stuff around you. The nearest park to me is a good 30 min drive in a direction I never go. And I have no idea where any RV park around here is. I don't think we have them. I mean... who'd want to go RV in Ohio?

    1. @ Maria - Isn't that song great? I'm glad you like it. Thanks again for all your help. No RV parks in Ohio? What is this world coming to? ;) I hope you find one soon... literally.

    4. I know Patrick... there just aren't any super convenient to where I live so I can just drive through like Debra. She's so lucky :)

  2. Nice to be able to spend time at the park and down by the lake isn't it? Great way to envision oneself in an RV just hanging out, relaxing.....super news on the bonus! Myself, I can't believe this company is paying me so much money, plus a per diem, plus the hotels, plus the mileage!!! Looks like my "God Nod" back in January to leave Arizona was right on!! Keep this up and I'll have a very healthy travel fund by the end of the year!!

    1. @ Sandra - I don't know how I missed your comment.... sorry about that! Yes, I am very blessed. :) Every time you tell me you like one of my photos I nearly fall out of my chair! Imagine! The MadSnapper likes one of MY photos. Inconceivable. The sun felt cooperative at that moment. ;)

Yes, I will need to park somewhere but it will be challenging since I will have to start with an older model RV and some parks have a limit on age - the RV that is, not the people. LOL.

Good to hear from you. I'll catch up on your blog this weekend. :)

  6. A company bonus? We don't live in the same world. My company bonus is just enough to by a Mac. ;-) 2012 rock's definitively for you. Glad for you.

    1. @ Patrick - we live in the same world my friend; same universe even; the continents just seem world's apart. Again, gotta love modern technology. LOL.

And this will be the first company bonus I have received in 20 years. Trying not to count my chickens before the eggs hatch but they've been giving bonuses at this company for 30 years so the odds are good. I'm just glad I qualify to make the list! :)
