3/4/12-Bath Wars

No one ever believes me when I tell them that my dogs absolutely love their baths and actually try to beat each other to the tub.  Well, yesterday was bath day for the babies. So, at my shoddy best, I videotaped the competition.  Each video is short, appx. 20 seconds, but they prove my point.

It was Bentley’s time to go first this month.

Then Nonni. I think she was pouting because she didn’t get to go first.

Miss Hope? She never enjoys her bath. Imagine that!  Eleven years x 12 months = 100+ baths. You'd think she'd adjust, but take a look at this face. Does that look like adjusting to you? LOL.

Since I had the shower hose apparatus hooked up for bathing the animals, I decided to leave it and use it for myself.  A sort of trial run at RV bathing – minimal water, rare spa showers, etc. We’ll see whether momma ends up liking it as much as Bentley and Nonni, or snarling like Miss Hope.

  1. Oh how cute - and well behaved too!

Hope Miss Hope (ha that sounded funny) doesn't hold a grudge too long :)

    1. @ Maria - that is hilarious! Great play on words. And no, she doesn't hold a grudge very long. She is very forgiving, but for an hour or two after her bath I don't dare turn my back on her. LOL.

  2. That reminds me, Angel needs a bath too. I have to locate her towels. It has been too cold and I didn't want to get me wet. LOL

    1. @ Susan - would love to hear how the pet baths go in an RV. As you can see from the videos, it's a breeze right now. Once we're in an RV full-time, I don't want to have to depend on warm weather to bathe them outside.

And just where do you store items like extra doggy towels? Those are some of the things I haven't worked out yet and would love to hear from you.

Stay dry (and warm)! HugZ, D :)

  4. Cute videos. They are good about bath time. I don't have much trouble with Duke although lately he hasn't wanted to jump in the tub himself.

  5. i love love love the videos and watched both of them twice. so sweet they are. good dogs. we have to use a leash to walk baby in the shower, we use a hose, but in the shower. Jake does what your dogs do, just walks in and loves it. baby loves it, after we get her in the shower. i have to shut the bedroom door because if they see each other while wet they run like crazy chasing each other through the house. on hot days they are bathed in the yard, not the shower, that is just about 4 times a year here.

    1. Giving them a bath once I'm in a motorhome will be very interesting. I have a doggy door right now to the backyard and I have to close it or they will run from the tub to the backyard and roll in the grass and play and play. That happened once. They didn't mind getting a 2nd bath but my back sure did! LOL.

Baby and Jake are blessed to have such loving human parents. :) I hope you're feeling better. Virtual hugZ!

  6. One thing you'll learn fast is how to take quick showers in your RV!! Stop and think about it---typical RV has something like a 6 gallon water heater....and a 30 gallon grey water holding tank.....do the math!!

    1. @ BlackSheep - Hence my statement, "A sort of trial run at RV bathing – minimal water, rare spa showers, etc." I dun did the calculatin'. ;) The good news is that it turns out I actually like using the auto-stop-flow hose even better than the regular shower. :)
