4/4/12 - Workamper Needed @ CHSP

Before I address the title of this blog, I just want to say that.....

****This is my 101st blog post!!!****

Can you believe that!?!  I know I probably should have made that announcement yesterday at number 100, but I didn't even realize it at the time.  Six months ago I would never have believed that I would write one post, let alone 100.  Happy milestone Living in Grace!  :)

Now, back to the title of this blog.....

We went to the park tonight for our evening walk and sure enough, they are still advertising for Park Hosts. I took this picture on Saturday.  Please spread the word.  Cedar Hill State Park needs workampers!  The official TPWD site is (here).   You can call the CHSP office directly for more information: 972-291-3900.

We stayed long enough to enjoy yet another beautiful sunset.  Nonni and Bentley offered to stay on permanently as hosts but I persuaded them to come home with me. ;)  I sure would like to get my RV before these babies get too old to enjoy it.  I'm not sure who would be in heaven more - them or their mommy!

I think I found an apartment and will let you know as soon as I can.  Stay blessed wonderful readers!

  1. I can't imagine why you would forget about yesterday being your 100th blog entry? From what you described yesterday in your blog, it seemed to be such a uneventful day. (NOT!) ;^)

    1. @ Sandra - keep your toes x'd too please! LOL. Yes, CHSP is beautiful. I love all our state parks actually but am of course partial to the one in my back yard. ;) I think they pay a nominal fee and camping is free. Great question! Will check and update post.

    2. @ Sandra - I asked at the gate tonight and they don't pay but camping is free. The work schedule is typical: 2-3 days for singles, 2 days each for couples. 4-5 days off per week with free camping and amenities - can't beat that! :)

  3. Hi... I'm new-ish to your blog. My husband and I have been dreaming about life on the road for a while now... and it is happpening TODAY! We are leaving the Austin area and headed north! So don't stop dreaming and planning! It will happen! We had to "wait" 2 years, but looking back now, I can tell we are really ready for this! I just wanted to encourage you to not give up your dream! You can see our journey so far at http://flipflopvector.blogspot.com/.

    1. @ Teri - I'm so glad you're here and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog! Thank you so much for telling me about it. If you sign up to follow mine, I'll give you a shout out.

I also enjoy Project 365 AND I lived in Austin forever! Do you go to the Archiver's store there? When I am mobile, visiting each of their stores is on my "map" of things to do. Weird, I know. I have several lists like that - it will be fun to check each thing off and the real joy will be the journey in between.

Thank you for the encouragement. When you read my upcoming post about my new apartment, you will understand how timely and how very much needed your comment is. Thank you very much.

Happy travels! I can't wait to read all about it on your blog. I love how you came up with the name and your rig is so WAY cool. I'm curious tho - why SD?

I'm so happy for you guys. Happy and safe travels!

    2. PS. I didn't see a way to sign up to follow your blog. If I missed it, please let me know. Also, I LOVE (lots of love from me to you, LOL) your widgets - please let me know where you got them. Would "love" to use them when the time comes for me to have my own rig. HugZ!

    3. I found you thru Glenn's blog. I have not been in the Archivers in Austin... but used to go when we lived in Colorado. My sister worked there for a while.

Why SD? http://flipflopvector.blogspot.com/2012/03/check-out-our-new-digs.html... My husband is a "researcher"... So we've been reading up on "domiciles" and decided it was the best option for us.

On the "widgets", you can just click on them to go to the site. The countdown (that we have now removed), we just googled countdown for blog. Oh, and I think David added the following thing? He's the blog master. He writes so well/funny. I'm hoping to add photos down the line. My son is lending me his DSLR and I'm still learning how to use it!

    4. @ Teri - I can't wait to catch up on all of your blog. This darn move is getting in the way of my fun! LOL. You are right - your husband is a funny writer. I cracked up when I read about your 32 square inch residence. :)

Gosh, I have so many questions but will wait until I catch up on your blog before running them by you. David probably already answered them. You guys are fascinating!

DSLR - I'm impressed! Focal lengths, manual settings and interchangeable lenses are WAY beyond me. I can't wait to see your pictures! :) That's a good son, BTW.

Happy (and safe) travels to you and David. Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm glad you found me because now I get to follow you! :)
