6/3/12 - 'Till We Meet Again

It wasn’t the first time she kissed a brow, wiped a tear, and whispered, “It’ll be okay.  No worries.  I will see you on the other side.”  But it was the first time she was the one leaving.

I'm not sure what is up with me and the "death" theme lately, but I wrote this in response to the Trifecta Writing Challenge weekend prompt.

Complete the following story in 33 words:
"It wasn't the first time."
(The five words are not to be included in your 33 words.)

  1. I LOVE that you're writing again!

  2. How beautifully sad! Funny how we go through stages of what wants to be created through our words.

  3. Thanks for linking up to Trifextra this weekend. I do like the idea that this person has seen others go, said goodbye to them, and is now the one on the other end. Nice job with the prompt. Hope to see you back again soon.

  4. you really do have a natural gift for writing, keep on writing and saying NO.

  5. I can't thank you guys enough for the wonderful, positive comments. It keeps me going. Thank you!
