6/9/12 - Tails 'N Trails

I love getting out early on weekend mornings and taking the dogs to a dog park or somewhere new.

Today, we enjoyed the leash-free area for awhile and then headed to parts unknown down the yellow-brick road, er, make that the paw-printed trail.  LOL.

About a mile down the trail, we found some running water for the dogs to enjoy.  Well, for Bentley to enjoy.  Nonni got her obligatory drink and came back to the trail.  A water dog she is not.

Bentley, on the other hand, er, paw - had tons of fun doing this..........

Until futher down the trail he found a patch of Beggar's Lice stickers and came out looking like this..........

It's a good thing his momma is a patient groomer.  LOL.  And that he doesn't have a mirror to see what he looks like after I cut all of the really bad clusters out!   ;(

  2. I wish we had a dog park around here. Bentley sure did have a good time. I can see Duke doing the same thing. So how long did it take you to get all that stuff off of him?

  3. looks like the perfect park for pawbabies. except of course those darn beggar lice. have not seen them in many years and never thought about them getting on dogs. me to on glad he could not see himself. he looks like he was having a blast in the water. our dog park is called Happy Tails, no running water, but they do have a big plastic pool full of water and it is always full of dogs, lying in the water they are drinking from. YUCK. it is 3 acres fenced for off leash and 5 more for on leash.

    1. @ Sandra - I love that cities have dog parks now. Dogs and their hygiene - what are we to do? LOL. Pawbabies - I LOVE THAT! Am so stealing. ;) We miss Austin - it has tons and tons of leash free trails for miles with real live creeks and lakes. Go figure! :)

  4. Bentley sure had fun, Mama not so much after the fact. Dog parks are a waste for me as Angel just stays by me and doesn't play. I don't think she likes, only tolerates, dogs, Likes only people.

    1. @ Susan - that is so funny about Angel. Just like people, each one is so different. Nonni is much better about socializing but mostly she stays with me. Bentley on the other hand greets every new dog and walks to the gate to say bye to all the ones leaving. He's slowed down a LOT this year but still loves a good howl-down at the dog park. LOL.

  6. It was a great park, wasn't it? Think I will check out the one closer to you soon. fewer trees=less injury to my human kids, and fewer bugs on my furry ones.
