7/31/12 - July Close Out

Overall, July was wonderful.  It was my birthday month, and it was full of gifts.  I am grateful to God for each one of them.

The picture above is from this past weekend.  That's me, Bubba (my nephew/brother) and John Alvin (his cousin).  Bubba and his wife BJ invited me to join them at Lake Whitney for the weekend.  I love that lake!!  It was wonderful!  Of course it doesn't hurt that they have a nice RV and boat, and John Alvin was able to join us because he has a great place and lives on the lake.  It made me long for my nomadic life even more, but in the meantime I'll take weekends like this one anytime!  :)

On the way to the lake I passed an RV retail place that had a Class B with slide outs.  I practically wrecked doing a u-turn to go back and see it.  I stood at the fence and drooled for awhile.  They weren't open yet.

The Class B wasn't there when I came back through on my way home, but I took a picture of this Scamp they had parked in the back.

It may not look like much but when I looked them up, I got really excited!  This model is only 13 ft. and it comes with a shower and rooftop a/c.  Check out this picture from their specs site.  The bed converts to a dinette for day use.  I'm in love!

The Month In Review

I completely blew my normal routine for isolation and writing this month, but I don't regret one single moment.  I considered each outing a vacation and birthday treat.

I started off the month attending church with my niece and her family to celebrate their successful VBS.

VBS Song Recital - Wesley, Kenzie and mom, Charlene
Wesley and Nonni
Kenzie and Oliver
On July 4th, I got to enjoy a cookout in Bubba's beautiful backyard.

I also got to see Smiles again this month.  You remember her, right?  She is the puppy I rescued.  She is very lucky and very happy.  The picture is blurry because she was all over me and wouldn't quit wiggling.  Too cute!

For my birthday, I heard from lots of friends and family.  And Charlene had a party for me and her daughter who was in town.  That was awesome too!

However, one of the best gifts I got was peace and quiet at my apartment... let me explain....

Until my birthday weekend, I had not had a full night's sleep in this apartment.  Not one!  My birthday was Saturday, 7/14.  On 7/12 the apartments did a drug raid and announced that they are putting a police substation in the complex.  In my building!  That may sound ominous to you, but to me it was/is a big relief.  The noise and parties stopped almost immediately.  Then, as if that wasn't enough, God gave me another blessing!  The very next day, on Friday, 7/13, the new manager told the family of 7 above me (in a one bedroom), that they had to move to a 2 bedroom or find a new place to live.  They moved out while I was at my birthday party.  How awesome is that?!?  Peace.  Quiet.  Sleep.  Happy birthday to me!  :)

My furbabies are enjoying the peace and quiet too.  We all crashed!

Miss Hope, Nonni and Bentley
All in all, I'm closing out July a very happy camper.  :)

your cousins back yard looks more like a PARK to me. the scamp is adorable. one of the bloggers has a scamp and she leaves her hubby and dogs home and goes out about once a month with her scamp and camera and a bag of books for alone time in state parks.

    1. @ David, or do you go by Dave? Either way, thank you! I hope you're right about that day - some days I have doubt - mainly because I want it so badly and it's going to take awhile. One step, one day at a time, right? Regardless, comments like this really help and I sincerely mean it when I say thank you.

And absolutely! West is my direction of choice. Hit the ocean and bank right. :) When that day does come, I'd love to meet you and your wife! Just don't give up on me. I'll get there as soon as I can.

      HugZ!

    2. That was such a great month, so many good things. Just keep a positive attitude and this waiting will soon be a memory. Sure is nice to have a police presence for pease and quiet.
Lake Whitney isn't too far from where I will be after Labor Day. Hopefully we will be able to get together in September.
