11/18/12 - God's Reminders

Perhaps in an effort to share some of the good around here, and perhaps in hope that someday there will be an obvious difference in my quality of photography skills (LOL), I am sharing two photos from a recent walk.

It never ceases to amaze me how there is beauty all around us – every day.  I just have to look for it, or at it.  Beautiful sunsets like the one above, taken this week, are routine here.

I think of them as God’s gift, and a reminder to look up.

I wish I had SierraSue or MadSnapper photography skills.  Since I don't (yet, grin), I apologize for the quality of this next picture.  My neighbors across the hall and upstairs from me have two gorgeous kitcats and lots of birds.  This was taken the same day as the sunset picture above.  As we rounded the corner, coming back to the complex, I looked up and there they were.  This is also routine.

I think of them as our welcoming committee, and God’s reminder that love abounds everywhere, among all living things.

  1. Everyday commonplace/routines can bring much joy, we just have to SEE it and you did. Walking dogs is a great way to SEE things we would miss. there are many who never go outside except to get in their cars and drive to another building. very sad. a camera opens our eyes for sure. thanks for the compliment and your photos are great. remember i have all day every day to PLAY and learn...

    1. @ Sandra - my furbabies keep me active, that's for sure. I do look at things differently now that I take a lot of pictures. You are very kind. I love that you get to play and learn - that is awesome! :)

  2. Once I started taking an interest in photography I started seeing the world in a whole new way. Things that always looked ordinary became extraordinary. You just have to slow down and take things in and you have obviously discovered that

    1. @ Ann - this made me think of Olivia Newton-John's song, "Have You Never Been Mellow" from 1975. Love that song and I love looking at life through my lens. Life really is extraordinary.
